Hopkins native Lucille Lovett dies at Wings Home

Lucille Lovett died Thursday, Dec. 1, at the Wings Home in Allegan. She was 96.

She was born May 30, 1926, in Hopkins, the daughter of Leonard and Dorothy (Button) Wuis. For 18 years Lucille worked in the meat department at Harding’s Market in Otsego. In her free time she enjoyed reading, working in her flower gardens, traveling and spending winters in Lake Okeechobee, Fla.

On June 13, 1945, she married Robert Lovett who passed away in 2009.

Surviving are her daughters, Sue (Larry) Martin and Sally (Medford) Starr; four grandchildren, Cherie (George) Owens, Todd (Anna) Starr, Ginger (Steve Beadle) Martin-Foster and Kasey Cogar; nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Maurice Wuis; grandson-in-law, Keith Cogar and great-grandchildren, Madeline and Kelly Cogar.

According to her wishes, cremation has taken place.

Private family burial of ashes will take place at Mountain Home Cemetery in Otsego.

Contributions in memory of Lucille may be made to Wings Home of Allegan.
