This is the time of year when the Hopkins Public Schools “Reader Feeder” hits the road, taking its mobile library to kids throughout the district. This bus plays an important role in making sure kids have access to books all summer long. The Reader Feeder has been providing a service in the district for the past five years. Data indicates that the majority of the students who participate by checking out books and reading them throughout the summer do not suffer a summer slide in reading, and a good percentage actually increase their reading levels when tested in the fall.
