There was a fire at the East Lake campground at about 1 p.m. Thursday and the maintenance barn burned down. The Hopkins Fire Department and Salem Fire Department combine efforts to put the fire out quickly. A campground spokesperson said, “Bear with us while we operate without all of our equipment for the time being. It was isolated and it shouldn’t affect camping. Please share the word that everyone is OK. Thanks so much for your kindness and concern.”
