A community forum on the local public school system is being planned for 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 30, at the Hopkins High School cafeteria.

All members of the community and school system staff and employees are welcome to come and to participate.

Forum organizers say its purpose is to have an open dialogue about how to make Hopkins schools a higher performing district.

“Together, we want to make this district the best place it can be,” a flyer posted on the schools’ we site reported. “There forums will be improvement and solution-based meetings open to all interested stakeholders with the HPS District. Improvement and solution-based implies that all proposed obstacles brought up should be accompanied by proposed solutions.”

Future forums will focus on anticipated solutions and their potential implementation and results.

The forums will be moderated by Bob Beck and two different “secretaries” will take take notes.

Light refreshments, provided by the Hopkins Teachers’ Association, will be provided.
