Hopkins Public Schools officials have announced adjustments for student drop off/pickup procedures in preparation for the return of all students Monday, March 8.

The changes will first occur on Monday, Feb. 22, in order to minimize traffic congestion on the village streets. Parents are being asked to park in one of the three school parking lots (north side of the building by the gym, south side of the building by the football field or the staff lot in front of the building).

During morning dropoff, it will be best to park on the north or south end of the building, so motorists don’t have to cross the drive in the dark.

“Please walk with your child(ren) on the sidewalk to the flag pole out front of our main entrance (Staff members will be out front greeting the students), an official wrote on the district’s web page. During afternoon pickup, the adult picking up your child(ren) must have their assigned number tag. We will be asking everyone to wait on the sidewalk out front while we call for your child(ren) to head out of the building.”

The only people who will be able to drop off/pick up kids in the front loop are those with babies in the car and elderly/disabled persons. Everyone else will need to park and follow these new guidelines.

Drop off time is 7:35 a.m. Dismissal time is 2:45 p.m .
