Hopkins scores 26 unanswered points to overcome Godwin

The Hopkins varsity football team team seemed to have its back to the wall after three quarters Friday night at Wyoming Godwin Heights.

The Vikings were in serious danger of falling to 0-3 on the season while staring at a 28-14 deficit at the start of the fourth and final period. But they exploded for 26 unanswered points in those last 12 minutes to capture their first victory of the season, 40-28.

Hopkins had scored only eight points all season before Friday night.

The Vikings will take on Kelloggsville Friday evening at their home field in another O-K Silver Conference cøntest.
