A strong first Viking Logo2quarter performance propelled the Hopkins boys’ varsity basketball team to its second straight victory Friday night, 63-49 over Wyoming Lee.

The triumph left the Vikings with an overall record of 3-10 and they now are 2-4 in the O-K Silver Conference standings. They had beaten nonleague foe Belding 61-44 on Tuesday evening.

The homestanding winners outgunned the Rebels 18-5 in the first eight minutes and the two teams battled evenly the rest of the way.

Hopkins was led by Jake Sapp with 24 points and 12 rebounds, Justin Weick added 14 points and six assists.

Lee was led by Jeffrey Anderson with 16 points.
