The Hopkins girls’ track team finished eighth in the 15-team Division 2 regional meet at Allendale Thursday and the boys’ squad checked in 10th.

Trent Baugh leaped his personal best of 20-8.5 to emerge as regional champion in the long jump and he’ll compete at the state meet.

Jaeden Harshberger turned in her personal best performance in the high jump, clearing five feet and qualifying for the state meet.

Kambria Moored, freshman Ellarie Baugh, Sierra Emaus and and freshman Riley Homrich hooked up to take third in the 400-meter relay in 51.54 seconds, less than a second away from first place. The quartet also qualified for state.

Nevaeah Helderop finished fourth in the open 1600-meter run at 5:32.42. Sophomore Kambria Moored also took a fourth, in the 300-meter intermediate hurdles, in her personal best time of 49.23 seconds, only ten-hundredths of a second behind third.

Navy Ingle, Moored, Emaus and Homrich came in fourth in the 800 relay.

Baugh was fifth in the long jump and Homrich took within the 100.

Landen Klinge, Alexander Chavez, Noah Corneille and Trent Baugh combined efforts to take fifth in the 800-meter relay in 1:34.22. Noah Corneille, Jacob Holder, Miles Corneille and Baugh also took fifth in the 1600 relay in 3:33.6.

Landen Klinge tied for fifth in the pole vault by clearing 11-8.

Aiden Janowsky finished sixth in the discus at 127-0.
