A power line and tree were down on Lee Street in Martin Wednesday morning.

Wednesday made it two days in a row of unusual weather in West Michigan, as a tornado watch was issued for the morning and afternoon. The rainfall was heavy in the morning and over the previous several days, creating humidity and flood warnings for the Rabbit River. Shown the cover photo is lightning striking at the west side of Robbins Bay, Gun Lake.

Because of the potential for severe weather, including tornadoes, the Then & Now Historical Library in downtown Dorr was closed all day Wednesday, causing a delay in the publication of the “Bygone Days” weekly feature until Saturday.

Flooding on 12th Street between 142nd and 144th Avenues.
