It was another day off school for students, teachers and staff at the Wayland, Hopkins and Martin schools Thursday, It wasn’t snow that was the culprit, it was a thin, but troublesome layer of ice that came calling overnight and into the early morning. The good news was that warmer temperatures, as high as 36 degrees, were supposed to make there way inot the area later in the day. Shown above is a sign declaring downtown Wayland restaurant McDuff’s closed until 11 a.m. because of icy conditions. A spokesperson for the eatery posted on Facebook, “For the safety of our team, we are going to give the salt a chance to do its job, before they do theirs.”
