Jan Breen, 72, dies after lengthy battle with cancer

Janet “Jan” Breen, age 72, died Saturday, Oct. 23.

Jan was a woman of many traits. She was beautiful, strong, and fierce — a true warrior. She battled cancer for 17 years of her life with grace and dignity. She deeply cared for her family and helped shape who they came to be. She had an attention to detail like no other.

She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Gregory Breen; children Christina Mason, Scott (Michelle) Brooks, Gregory (Kelsey) Breen Jr., Scott (Erin Pendell) Breen, Heather Breen; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Shirley Fishaw and her brothers Rick Fishaw and Michael Fishaw.

A gathering to celebrate her life will be held from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30, at Kubiak-Cook Funeral Home, 312 N. Main St., Wayland.

In memory of Jan and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
