The Jayda Gale Distillery has been put on the market for sale by owner Ryan Levett.

“In light of recent life events, I’ve decided I’m ready to move on to my next adventure,” he posted. “I’ve spent the last five years building the Distillery, I’ve enjoyed it, its become everything I hoped for. This place has taught me an unbelievable amount, but I’m ready to let it go and start again.”

Levett and partner Amanda Alfred in 2014 bought the historic structure on South Main Street that for a long time was home to Wayland Carpet & Appliance, purchasing it from Dave Mandaville. They remodeled and renovated the building at the corner of Pine and South Main.

“I’ve realized I’m more of a builder, and building this was the dream,” Levett said. “Unfortunately, owning a distillery doesn’t afford me the opportunity that I need to continue to be creative. That being said, I’ll be offering a $500 reward to anyone who helps find a buyer, but that buyer has to reference you by name.”

Alfred and Levett tore down and remodeled a lot of the inside and outside of the building, exposing many historical artifacts. They also overcame challenges in parking and obtaining a license to sell alcoholic beverages despite being close to a school and a church.
