It apparently more than just a rumor that the Jayda Gale Distillery and Restaurant will reopen. A Facebook posting this morning announced, “We are hopeful for November 21st we will be open. That day these chairs will flipped over and we’ll be ready to to serve you.” The facility was closed on South Main downtown at the end of August after a five-year project to remodel and renovate the historic building that for many years was home to Wayland Carpet & Appliance. Ryan Levett was the distiller and owner at the time it was closed and there is much speculation that the business has a new owner.
