Julia Rayman dies at local assisted living facility

Julia Irene Rayman died in her sleep at The Laurels of Sandy Creek in Wayland Friday April 12, just a few days before her 72nd birthday.  She was born on April 16, 1952, in Kalamazoo, to Robert and Elaine (Evink) Morrison.

Julia was a loving and devoted daughter, mother, sister and friend.  She was loved by all who met her.  She loved traveling to Florida and had lived there for a few years after her retirement from Perrigo. Julia’s favorite pastime was watching football and Nascar on television.  Above all, she cherished the time she spent with her family.

Julia is survived by her daughters, Tami Mercer and Chantel (Travis Clark) Rayman; grandchildren, Ryan (Carrie) Balgoyen, Savanna Mercer, Logan Huggins, Dylan Conrad, Khloe Christman and Jayden Clark; and great grandson Dean Balgoyen.  She is also survived by her sisters, Linda Morrison and LuAnn Johnson as well as several nieces and nephews.aring staff at Maplewood of Sandy Creek where Julia resided in assisted living for the past 18 months.Julia was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Robert Morrison.

Julia’s nieces, Penny Bursma and Angela Bender, were her caregivers for the last several years, along with staff at Maplewood of Sandy Creek where she resided in assisted living for the past 18 months.

The family invites guests to visit and funeral service from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Monday, April 22, at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park South Chapel at 3491 S. Westnedge Ave, Kalamazoo.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be mailed to Maplewood of Sandy Creek, 425 E. Elm St., Wayland.
