Wayland Union Schools will have his last day of the academic year on Monday, June 10.
The Michigan Legislature finally agreed to a bill on forgiveness for the many snow days schools had to make up from the last winter.Based on the passage of snow day legislation late last week and a review of our school district’s hours and days, we will only need to make up one day of school beyond the days already excused or waived by the Michigan Department of Education,” said Superintendent Norm Taylor in a letter to district parents.
“Contractually, the school district’s last day of school is a half day. This means that Friday, June 7, will now be a full day of school and Monday, June 10, will be a half day/last day of school. We expect all students to attend school through June 10 as the district would incur a significant state aid penalty if we do not meet minimum attendance that day.”
