Keep on rollin’: It’s deja vu for Cats’ Kadence Bottrall

Kadence Bottrall with another individual trophy.

Well, here we go again.

Wayland High School junior Kadence Bottrall earned her second straight individual regional bowling championship Saturday and she and senior teammate Isabella Harnish will be back in the state tournament next weekend. Harnish finished third in the competition at Spectrum Lanes in Wyoming.

Their performances come on the heels of a team regional championship achieved by the Lady Wildcats Friday. So it’ll be a party Friday and Saturday at Plymouth Canton.

Wayland girls’ varsity coach Eric Bottrall said, “Both of these ladies have put a lot of time and dedication to their games and it paid off… I can’t wait to see both bowl at the state finals next weekend in singles and as a team.”

The coach added, “I can’t put into words as how proud I am of all of the Wayland Wildcat bowlers this weekend. The guys have grown so much as a group and will be a force next season. We are young with a ton potential.

As for my girls… where do I begin? Thanks for trusting your coach on what to work on, to believe that you can achieve! That drills are boring, but do work! That it takes a team to win! To see the support you have for each other only shows how incredible you ladies are. You all have made memories this week that will last for a lifetime!”

The Wayland girls captured the O-K Conference and regional titles and will compete in the state tournament.

Other members of the girls team headed for team state competition include Haven Baker, Izzy Botwinski, Madison Bottrall and Breanna Hyde.

For the Wayland boys’ squad, Chandler Caruso finished 16th, Stephen Harnish was 30th, Mark Musgrave III 33rd, Deven Gardner 52nd, Kyle Vaness 63rd and Ashton Kasprowicz 66th.
