Lack of rain prompts area fire department burn bans

Area fire departments again are issuing bans on burning to homeowners and businesses. Leighton Township FD posted today that the township “is back under a burn ban, folks. The predicted rain did not materialize and with low humidity and high temps, the DNR is suggesting no open burning. A wild card for the weekend is the customaryt use of fireworks to celebrate the Independence Day holiday.
