The Martin girls’ varsity basketball team now owns a 9-1 overall season record after a 56-37 non-league victory over New Buffalo Tuesday night.
The Lady Clippers mounted a 27-20 advantage at intermission and pulled away in the second half.
Junior forward Faith Guritz scored 19 points to lead the offensive attack and she had eight rebounds and five steals. Natalie Yowler scored eight points, Freddie Elkins had seven and hauled down 12 rebounds. Briana Warner had six points and Kiaya Warner dished out four assists.
Martin made nearly 49 percent of its field goal attempts and enjoyed a 26-9 advantage in team rebounding.
Coach Doug MacVean and the Lady Clippers will be back in Southwest Athletic Conference action Friday at home against Watervliet.
