Martin completed one of its most successful girls’ basketball seasons in recent years with an overall record of 15-3 Thursday evening at Galesburg-Augusta.

The Lady Clippers defeated their hosts 41-34 and will be able to rest until next Wednesday evening on their home court in the open

ing round of the Division 4 district tournament.

The two halves of play were very different. Martin scored only eight points in the first two periods and trailed 11-8 at intermission. However, the Clippers were able to kick into high gear with a 19-12 run in the third quarter and they were able to stay on tap afterward.

Kiaya Warner led the offensive attack with 15 points and five steals. Faith Guritz added eight points and 10 rebounds, dishing out three assists. Briana Warner had six points.

Martin will play at 7 p.m. Wednesday on its home court against either West Michigan Lutheran or Covert.
