Martin girls end regular season with win

The Martin girls’ basketball ended the 2024-25 season in style Thursday night by cruising to a 53-31 victory over Fennville.

Tonight was such a great way to end the regular season and an amazing senior night for Avery Jager and Macy Thorn,” said coach Ben Schipper. “We got to have a very nice moment for Macy who has been out due to a season-ending injury and Avery started out on fire hitting four threes and scoring all 14 of her points in the first half. She had a double-double adding 12 rebounds.

“Our girls played with true desire on the floor tonight. It was exactly what we wanted to do to roll into playoffs on a high note. Our intensity turned Fennville over a lot, I felt we got the majority of the 50/50 balls and we had 22 offensive rebounds. We were incredibly aggressive on both ends of the court and had tremendous ball movement. Every player made great contributions to the team tonight and we had six girls with at least six points.
