Faith Guritz: 22 points

The Martin girls’ varsity basketball team handily defeated West Michigan Aviation Academy 52-19 Tuesday night to moves its overall season record to 7-0.

The Lady Clippers took control of the ballgame early and were never threatened. They led 19-5, 31-9 and 39-13 at the three period stops,
“I was very proud of the way we moved the ball against their zone,” said coach Ben Schipper. “Our girls were finding the openings and looking for their teammates. We were making conscious effort to get our posts more involved tonight and I felt like we accomplished that.”
Senior inside player Faith Guritz netted 22 points and hauled down nine rebounds, Bri Warner added 10 points, nine rebounds and five assists, Kiaya Warner scored seven points with seven assists and five steals, Jaclyn Hildebrand had five points, seven assists, Freddie Elkins and Natalie Yowler added seven and six rebounds, respectively.
Martin will be looking to make it eight wins a in row Friday night on its home floor against Watervliet at 6 p.m.
