The Hopkins’ girls’ varsity basketball team has been getting a lot of balanced scoring lately, and it showed again in a 61-42 victory Tuesday night against O-K Silver Conference rival Wyoming Godwin Heights.

The Lady Vikings have recorded their two highest offensive point totals in their last two contests. And Tuesday night’s win featured no fewer than four Hopkins girls scoring in double figures.

Olivia Sebright led the way for the second game in a row with 17 points, senior point guard Kennedy Helderop dropped in 16, Lexi Teunissen had 11 and Evangelina Helderop counted 10. Kennedy Helderop also contributed 10 assists.

“The Lady Vikings played unselfishly with good help side defense and good ball movement offensively,” commented coach John Robinson.

The verdict enabled Hopkins to improve its overall season record to 3-4. The Lady Vikings will face a tough task Friday evening at Calvin Christian, facing the perennial league champion Squires.
