Kennedy Helderop had 26 points and nine steals in Hopkins’ victory over Holton Tuesday night.

The Hopkins girls’ varsity basketball team claimed its first win of the season Tuesday evening in a 66-40 verdict over Holton.

Kennedy Helderop, the only senior on the young Vikings’ squad this year, led all scorers with 26 points and added nine steals. Samantha Sebright chipped in nine points, Alley Lenard added eight and Evangelina Helderop seven.

Coach John Robinson said that nine members of the Vikings’ roster contributed in the scoring column.

Kennedy Helderdop now has scored 98 points in four games for a 24.5 per-contest average.

Hopkins, now owning a 1-3 record overall, will be host to Hamilton Friday.
