The Hopkins softball team improved its season record to 4-0 Wednesday by taking both ends of a doubleheader against visiting Otsego.

The twin bill sweep came two days after the Lady Vikings did the same thing to Fennville.

Haley Burch threw all seven innings in the first game, giving up five hits, but no walks. She struck out three batters.

On the offensive side, Hannah VanDeRoovart had a double with a run batted in and Kristi Lenard had a double.

Kelsey Dusseau pitched the entire game in the nightcap, yielding eight hits and two walks while fanning four.

VanDeRoovart had a triple and three RBIs to pace Hopkins’ attack.

The Lady Vikings will take that 4-0 record overall into spring break. They will be idle until Monday afternoon, April 10, when they play at Kelloggsville for a doubleheader.
