The Hopkins girls’ varsity basketball team concluded its regular season Thursday evening with a 48-39 victory over Holland Calvary.

The verdict left the Lady Vikings with a a final regular season overall record of 7-12. They played only 19 games rather than 20 because O-K Silver Conference opponent Wyoming Lee did not field a team this season.

Hopkins was never in any real trouble in the ballgame. It took a slight 9-8 edge in the first period, led 20-14 at intermission and widened the gap to 39-19 at the end of the third quarter.

The Lady Vikings had a trio of players, Maddie Krcatovich, Heidi Gilder and Megan Schulz, score 10 points apiece to pace the offensive attack.

Hopkins will be on the home court Wednesday evening in the district semifinals against either Wayland or Allegan.
