The Hopkins girls’ basketball team’s modest winning streak came to an abrupt halt Tuesday evening in a 47-22 defeat at the hands of an undefeated Plainwell team.

The host Trojans are one of the few unbeaten girls’ squads in the state, yet they are only honorable mention in the latest Class B state-wide poll.

They made short work of the Vikings, taking 12-5 and 30-7 leads after the first two period stops.

None of the Hopkins girls scored in double figures and Chloe DeVries and Madison Kerber had the most points with just four apiece.

Sarah Morrell had 14 points and Macayla Wright 10 for Plainwell.
