Lady Vikings 5-3 overall on season’s volleyball court

The Hopkins High School varsity volleyball team now is 5-3 overall in dual matches after splitting a pair of encounters last week.

Hopkins defeated O-K Silver Conference rival Kelloggsville in three straight sets Thursday evening, 25-16, 25-11 and 25-15 to brings its league dual match record to 2-1.

Individual leaders in statistics were:

• Assists: Corrie Wisser 16, Lindsey Bulich 12.

• Kills: Brianna Miller 13, Corrie Wisser 8, Avery Roxbury/Mady Weber 5.

• Aces: Corrie Wisser 8, Lindsey Bulich 4, Brianna Miller 1

• Blocks: Brianna Miller/Mady Weber 1.

• Digs: Avery Roxbury 9, Maya Kerber/Corrie Wisser 5, Brianna Miller/Ellie Sebright 4, Ryley Dykstra/Lindsey Bulich.

The Vikings last Tuesday lost a close match at Calvin Christian. After being down two games to none, they battled back to force a game five but ended up falling just short.  The scores of match were 22-25, 22-25, 25-18, 25-23 and 14-16.

Individual statistical leaders were:

• Assists – Corrie Wisser 34, Lindsey Bulich 17.

• Kills – Brianna Miller 35, Corrie Wisser 11, Avery Roxbury 10.

• Aces – Brianna Miller 3, Mady Weber 2, Corrie Wisser/Lindsey Bulich 1.

• Blocks – Corrie Wisser/Lindsey Bulich 2.

• Digs – Corrie Wisser/Avery Roxbury/Lindsey Bulich 17, Brianna Miller 15.
