The Hopkins girls’ varsity soccer team registered its first victory of the season Wednesday with a 1-0 triumph over O-K Silver Conference rival Belding.

The Lady Vikings now are 1-2 overall after losing 3-0 to Grand Rapids Covenant Christian and 4-2 to Allegan before spring break.

Keelan Kilbane, with an assist from Heidi Gilder, scored the game’s only goal against Belding. Goalie Sam Seabright came up with nine saves and the shutout.

Seabright also had 10 saves in the loss to Covenant Christian. Kilbane score both Lady Viking goals in the loss to Allegan.
