The Hopkins varsity volleyball team Wednesday split five matches and make it to the semifinal round of the Otsego Invitational to run its overall season record to 9-4-2.

The Vikings lost to Schoolcraft 25-14, 25-18, and split two matches with Paw Paw  14-25, 26-24 in pool play. They beat Otsego 25-22, 25-23 in the cross-over match.

In bracket play, Hopkins edged Paw Paw  25-21, 25-20 but then fell for a second time to Schoolcraft 27-26, 25-16 in the tournament semifinals.

Logan Brummel dished out 62 assists in individual statistics for the day. Macy Arndt led in kills with 33, Meghan Schulz had 30, Brummel 15 and Brianna Miller 14. Schulz had 6 blocks, Mikayla Bulich 5, Arndt and Brummel 3 apiece; Miller served up 7 aces, Brummel 6 and Kennedy Helderop 4 and Hailey Shank led in digs with 42, Bulich had 29, Brummel 24 and Nicole Pitsch 15.
