The Hopkins girls’ varsity bowling team came out on top against Comstock Park Wednesday afternoon, winning the league match 21-9. The boys, however, lost 28-2.
The girls started strong, taking all 10 points in the baker games. Then heading into match play the girls took eight of nine points to seal the victory after the first match.
Kennedy Gill led the girls with a 196 game, followed by Leah Helder’s 150. Both girls took a point along with Alayna Ryan and Abby Simpson.
In the second match, the Panthers came back and took eight of the nine points in the second match play, still coming up short though.
The Panthers beat the Hopkins boys by 25 pins in the bakers to take a 10-0 lead to start. In the first match Mickey Norsworthy bowled a 136 to take point, and James Miller took a point in the second match play to take another.
The Hopkins boys’ record falls even in the league with a 4-4 mark in the O-K Silver Conference.
