The Hopkins softball team started the season Tuesday with a band by defeating Wyoming Godwin Heights 20-4 and 16-2 in an O-K Silver Conference doubleheader.

Sophomore Kelsey Dusseau pitched three innings for the Vikings in the first game, giving up four hits, striking out two and walking three.

On the offensive side, Caitlyn Rodanhisler had a triple
Haleigh Miller had a double, Dusseau a triple
and Tori Miller had a double.

Maddie Schans, another sophomore threw for Hopkins in the nightcap and struck out six batters. Schans and catcher Hannah Wubben both clubbed and Bloom had a double.

Coach Casey Schoenborn’s ladies will face Hamilton Friday.
