Hopkins will put its 21-8 record on the line at 10 a.m. Saturday against a Middleville Thornapple Kellogg team that now is 26-4 for the overall season in the semifinals of the Division 2 district softball tournament.

The Lady Vikings will be hosts for the four-team competition. Wayland and Allegan will square off in the other semifinal contest at noon.

TK Tuesday night partied down at winless Hastings’ expense 16-1 in three innings to advance to Saturday’s semifinals. The Trojans were undefeated champions of the O-K Gold Conference and they swept Wayland in a doubleheader earlier this month.

The Wildcats, who are accustomed to winning district championships, the last 10 in a row, will have a difficult task ahead, though Allegan sports a 6-28 overall record.

The finals will get under way at 2 p.m. Saturday at Hopkins High School. The regional tournament will be held at Edwardsburg.
