The Hopkins girls’ varsity basketball team Tuesday night tuned up for its O-K Silver Conference championship showdown with Northpointe Christian with an easy 53-17 victory over Holland Calvary.

The Lady Vikings can win the league title outright Friday evening if they can beat a visiting Northpointe quintet. They beat the Mustangs 50-40 earlier this season, but go into the regular season finale with a Silver record of 8-1 while Northpointe and Calvin Christian both are 7-2. If Hopkins wins Friday night, it will claim its first league crown since Hector was a pup. If it loses, the three teams will share the title.
The Lady Vikings wasted no time in putting away Holland Calvary, shooting out of the gate with a 17-4 advantage at the end of the first quarter. They led 31-10 at intermission and were never threatened.
Senior center Meghan Schulz led the offensive attack for the third straight game with 15 points and senior guard Brandalyn Helderop added 10.
Hopkins now owns a 13-6 record overall for the season.
