The Wayland junior varsity volleyball team took second place in the nine-team Allegan County Classic JV Invitational Saturday in Hopkins, losing in three games to Hamilton 25-21, 15-27, 15-11 in the championship round.

The Wildcats’ front line begins with their middle attackers Lydia Ellis and Sara VanDer Weide (and Kennedy Helderop today, as VanDer Weide left for a band commitment). Their other front row attackers are Alli Longstreet, Jessica Miling, and Maddie Whitley. Setters are Abby Omness and Madi Barrett. Defensive specialists are Kennedy Helderop and Jaz Santos. Some players, Barrett, Helderop and Longstreet, had dual roles throughout the day.
