Wayland High ScKarli Warning TKhool senior Karli Warning has made a verbal commitment to play basketball next season for Grand Rapids Community College.

Warning, a starting guard for the Lady Wildcats, has been noted for a deadly three-point shot and steady defense. However, she currently has been sidelined with an ankle injury she suffered Friday against Grand rapids Catholic Central and the ‘Cats could have used her Tuesday night in a one-point loss to Mattawan.

Dave Glazier, head GRCC women’s hoops coach, said on Facebook, “Excited to announce the first two verbal commitments for the 2016 GRCC Women’s Basketball recruiting class. Claire Flewelling will join the program out of Ludington High School and Karli Warning is joining out of Wayland Union High School.

“Both young ladies bring a wealth of experience and skill to the program. Looking forward to having them arrive on campus and begin to leave their mark on RaiderBasketball‬.”

Warning is the second member of the Lady Wildcats squad to announce intentions this week. Teammate Ali Cutler has reported her intentions to play at Cornerstone. Teammate Hope Dollarhide will play for Lawrence Tech.

Two other Lady Wildcats, Ali Martus and Sydney Ritz, have announced they will play in college next year as well, but Ritz will play volleyball at Spring Arbor and Martus will join the golf team at Northwood University.
