After a tough loss the primgevious night, the Wayland varsity soccer team found its way back onto the win sheet with a 1-0 win against Hamilton Thursday night.

Scoring the only goal of the night was Haley Thelen on an assist from Ashlyn Schafer. The girls played with only one substitute in the second half and were able to keep the visiting Hawkeyes from finding the back of the net and keep their one goal lead as the final buzzer sounded.

The win brings their overall record to 6-8-2 as they move into the final four games of the regular season.

Paxton Granger posted her sixth shutout of the season and made seven saves in the win.

The girls are back in action on Monday when they take on Grand Rapids Catholic Central at home.
