Lady Wildcats edged by Middleville TK, 53-52

The Wayland girls’ basketball team suffered a one-point loss against a Middleville Thornapple Kellogg team it beat by one point  earlier this season.

The Lady Wildcats lost 53-52, dropping their overall season record to 11-6 and O-K Gold Conference mark to 5-4.

Senior Harmony Laker led Wayland’s offensive attack with 17 points, Addie Sikorski added 12 and Marissa Ainsworth 11.  Harmony and sister Charity both had one three-point field goal, as did Laney Wolf and Izzy Johnson, who both collected five points for the evening.

Wayland now is clinging to this place in the O-K Gold Conference standings. Middleville Thornapple Kellogg, with the upset victory, now is 3-6.

Wayland boys 52 Middleville TK 42

The Wildcat lads pushed their overall season record above .500 again with the victory. They are now 10-9 overall and 5-5 in the O-K Gold Conference, fighting for third place.

Hopkins girls 38 Comstock Park 23

The Lady Vikings improved their surprising O-K Silver Conference record to 7-2 and solicited their hold on third place in the league. Hopkins overall is 9-7.

Hopkins boys 42 Comstock Park 40

The Vikings pulled out a tight win on their home court, bringing their overall record to 5-13 and they are 3-7 in league play.

Martin girls 40 Coloma 10

The Lady Clippers turned in yet another solid defensive performance and in so doing lifted their overall season record to 6-10.

St. Joseph Lutheran 84 Martin boys 47

The Clippers ran into a buzzsaw Tuesday night in a non-league encounter. Their record overall now is 5-13.
