The Wayland girls’ varsity tennis team opened its dual meet season Wednesday with a 7-1 loss to O-K Silver Conference rival Grand Rapids South Christian.

It was reported that fine performances were turned in by Sydney Hielkema and Lauren Drew.

The Lady Wildcats will be back in action Friday at home against non-league opponent Lowell and will take part Saturday in the Lakewood Invitational.
