The Wayland girls’ varsity basketball team recorded its first victory of the season Friday evening with a 45-43 non-conference victory over visiting Lowell.
The win improved the Lady Wildcats’ season record to 1-4.
Keys to the victory were some hot three-point shooting from senior forward Grace Dollarhide and the usual quality inside play of sophomore pivot Stephanie Ainsworth.
The Lady Wildcats will begin O-K Gold Conference play at home Tuesday against Middleville Thornapple Kellogg.
