The Wayland girls’ varsity soccer team captured its second victory of the season Wednesday night and their first in conference play as they defeated East Grand Rapids 2-0.

Goals on either side of the half, the first by Kennedy Thelen, and the second by Amanda Brown, were the difference in a contest that saw both teams with some good chances to score.

Lilly Bolliger posted her second career shutout and made six saves in the win.

The win brings the Wildcat’s overall record to 2-4 (1-3 O-K Gold).

The girls are back in action on Friday evening as they play host to Covenant Christian.
