The Wayland High School varsity volleyball team tied for fifth place out of 24 teams Saturday at the Portage Northern Invitational.
The Lady Wildcats won their pool by beating Okemos and splitting with Battle Creek Lakeview and Dowagiac. In bracket play, they beat Schoolcraft before losing in the quarterfinals to Otsego.
Leading the Wildcats statistically were Sidney Ritz with 42 kills, Taryn Coughlin 10 serving aces, Leigha Morse 85 assists, Chloe Coughlin three blocks and Lyndie Malsen 49 digs.
The Wildcats will be at home Thursday evening to play Grand Rapids South Christian.
