The Leighton Township Board Thursday evening awarded bids for snow plowing and landscaping to Green Lake Excavating.
The snow plowing bid for the township hall, Green Lake fire station and Moline fire station was for $65 per time. The bid for landscaping work around the township hall, including replacement of mulch with rocks, was $1,520.
In other business Thursday night, the Leighton Board:
- Approved the reappointments of Steve Shoemaker to the Zoning Board of Appeals and Ken Visser to the Board of Reviews.
- Agreed to but and have installed four security cameras at the township hall and library for $1,200.
- Noted there were five building permits issued in September at a value of an estimated $1.5 million. For the year to date, 28 permits have been approved at a value of $6.8 million.
- Agreed to have new Supervisor Steve Wolbrink. Treasurer Jackie Bultsema and Clerk Rachel Fennema represent Leighton on the Dorr-Leighton Wastewater Authority. Supervisor Steve Deer surmised new Dorr Township Treasurer Myrna Marr will be the newcomer on the authority.
