The Leighton Township Fire Department today reported that over the long four-day Memorial Day holiday weekend, firefighters responded to 10 emergency incidents. A spokeperson for the department posted on Facebook, “Often, we have to rely on our neighboring communities for assistance. This morning was one of those times with overlapping back to back incidents. Thank you Dorr Township Fire Department and City of Wayland Fire Dept. for your speed and professionalism assisting the Leighton community!”
