Tony Banas, who has been fire chief for Leighton Township for the past six years, has announced he has accepted a position as captain for the Texas Township Fire Department in the Kalamazoo area.
Bans, in a Facebook posting today, said, “After 28 years and around 2.5 million miles as a truck driver and 23 of those years at Alloy Exchange, I am making a career change. I have been offered and accepted a position as a full-time captain with Texas Township Fire Rescue.
“I have truly enjoyed working for Alloy and greatly appreciate everything they have done for me and my family. I couldn’t have done this without the love and support of my wife Amanda Conrad-Banas and the sacrifices she and my daughters have endured for my career…”
