Almost one mile of Second Street between 142nd and 144th Avenues in Leighton Township will get a repaving job this year.
The Leighton Township Board Thursday evening approved the project recommended by the Allegan County Road Commission, at a cost of $98,500. Superior Asphalt has been contracted to to the work, which will cover 0.99 mile.
The board also approved paving the parking lot at Fire Station No. 1 for $10,000, with Stallard and Sons Asphalt doing the work.
The board agreed to spend up to $7,400 for corrosion repair for the main fire truck.
Supervisor Steve Deer reported to his colleagues that the township has approved issuance nine building permits for $2.76 million over the first three months of 2017.
