Leighton Twp. Fire Dept. extinguishes blaze in a field

The “dog days of summer” have arrived, and this year it’s particularly troublesome with dry conditions and 90-degree weather approaching. The Leighton Township Fire Department had to deal with this massive field fire Tuesday, and firefighters were up to the task. The incident came only a day after a blaze near Greenville had only three firefighters show up because too many have full-time jobs during the day. (Photo courtesy of Dan Miller)
