Leighton Township officials will be hosts for a special master plan open house from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, at the Leighton Township Hall on 12th Street.
A flyer promoting the event indicates, “A master plan is a policy guide describing the desired physical development of the community. The master plan is a reflection of the community’s vision for the future, so we need your insights and opinions to ensure the plan represents your vision.
“Leighton Township is YOUR community and this is YOUR plan.”
Local officials are noting that all municipalities in Michigan are recommended to update their master plans every five years. They also have noted that Leighton is one the fastest growing townships in the state in terms of population.
