Lifelong Leighton Twp. farmer Ron Brink dies at age 77

Ronald J. Brink, age 77, of Caledonia, died Christmas Day, Dec. 25.

Born on the family farm in 1942, Ron was a lifelong farmer in Leighton Township. He enjoyed going for rides and traveling the country roads and was known for checking crop conditions.

He is survived by Roxanna; his children, Sherri (Donald) Cernia, Terri (James) Green, Todd (Latrisha) Brink; grandchildren, Kristin (Ken) Van Portfliet, Jeffrey (Heather) Schrier, Kurtis (Courtney) Schrier; great grandchildren, Madelyn and Riley Schrier; sister, Cheryl (Ken) Haverdink; and many other family and friends.

Ron was preceded in death by his wife, Marlene, parents, Onnie and Fern, and his brother, Larry.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 29, at Stroo Funeral Home. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 30, at Moline Christian Reformed Church, 4341 Chappel St., with Rev. Jim De Zeeuw officiating. Interment will be in Hooker Cemetery, Leighton Township.

    Worked with Ron at the Moline Co-Op,for ten years a good man he will be missed .
