The Dorr Township Planning Commission Tuesday evening approved a site plan submitted by Liquid Haulers Maintenance in a 6-0 vote a special meeting.
The company plans to construct another 12,000-square-foot building at its site at 4560 Division Ave., in addition to the current structure that has been in place for about 30 years. It will be used for storage of raw materials.

Craig Gengler, who made a presentation to the commission on behalf of the company, said the site plan still needs final approval from the Allegan County Drain Commission. He added that 24 parking spaces will be provided at the location.
There is no anticipated negative impact on wetlands nor on the nearby creek, said Eric Thompson of Professional Code Inspections, the township’s zoning administrator. He added that it’s his understanding the company’s chemicals are non-flammable.
Site plan review for the proposed expansion first was examined by the Planning Commission at its regular meeting Oct. 16, but no one was present from the company. The special meeting was called for Oct. 30 to expedite the matter in a timely manner.
