A lot of people donned those crazy glasses to get a gander at the first solar eclipse since 1979 Monday afternoon. One observer was photographer Hope Thurston Carter of Shelbyville, who has three sons who graduated from Wayland High School. She took pictures of the celebrated event at her borther’s new home in Idaho.
